Solid body violin basses

    Please post a pic of your solid boddied violin bass.Ihave a 30" neck and looking to make a smallish body for my grandson and thought a violin sytyle body would be cool.

    That's the style i was thinking of,cool.Gonna have to be 30" scale though.I saw one as someones avatar hope the check in.

    The Gibson EB1 . Their first bass back in 1953 .

    That's the prettiest bass on TB. Too many strings, but beautiful.

    Do you really want a solid body violin body bass? The Hofner and Hofner clones are all hollow body. You can find many of these out there, some are really inexpensive, so it would be easier to purchase than build.

    I have a Dillion Beatle Bass with Roto's on it that's been sitting in it's hardcase for the last 10 years.....haven't been using it......might as well sell it....I didn't use it much and never even gigged it.....it has a solid block in the middle and could be compared to the Contemporary model......

    When I think "Solid body violin bass," the first thing that comes to mind is the Gibson EB-1. Cool bass, though I hear it's heavy as hell.

    Just looking to make a slab body to mate with a neck i have.I saw one in an avatar here but neglected to write persons mane down.
