Oh my there is just too much info on the web....I spent an hour on Google and am good with everything......cept the body is just weird....

for the hell of it I took the 78 P bass apart.......then I started reading the interwebs, oh what a scary thing. Hehe......So, all things pan out, although interestingly I guess.

    Pots are both 1976, I think : 1377651 , 013348 and
    1377605, 013343

Pickguard serial matches headstock, which is a 78, (both S8)

pickup is 172378 which I understand is 78.
    Neck is a J Torres 2383 which I understand is 78 ....

can't read much in the body, but check the pic........any idea?

crazy how the 70s basses seem to be put together in the factory from parts bins.....hehe........

gee, thanks :) .... she's a little worn, kinda loose in the bottom depending on the settings, and her neck has some hickies that don't go away.....but, there's worse in vegas :)

The neck pocket rubber stamp was used from early 1976 thruout 1977. J. Torres was known to make necks in this perios as well...

So, I have a question on the neck, it's a 4 number stamp 2383 .... I've read that first two numbers are the week, then it's unclear, 3rd number is last number of year, or 4th?
