Anybody have an opinion on speakers? Need to replace a 10 in my Fender Bassman.

    Celestion? Eminence?

What's in it now? I'd use one of those.

Good call, I have no clue, haven't even pulled the back off. What ever they were using in '78. Thought I'd upgrade from stock.

Not always as simple as that. To get the best sound out of your rig you need to match the speakers to the enclosure that they are going to be put in. I.E. you cant just dump any 10" bass speaker in there and expect it to be awesome. A little more info on your set up will help with suggestions.

Yeah, I guess I was looking more for an opinion on brand rather than exact match. I figured I get to that when I pulled the back off. It's a 1978 4x10 Bassman 65w Tube about 10 inches deep. Not at the amp right now. I'll see what else I can pull off the back to help.

Just like to say that I am extremely new to this forum and you guys have been very helpful, even with a newby that is mind numbingly ignorant when it comes to the guts of his bass equipment.

    Thanks everybody!

    You rock!
