I recently bought a Squier Classic Vibe 60's Jazz Bass, I'd really like to get a black pickguard for it, but do not want to run into the issue of a Fender replacement guard not fitting properly.

Has anyone had experience with replacing these guards? Will a Fender replacement work? if not what will?

    Thanks

I did exactly that very recently. I got the Fender 10-Hole Contemporary replacement pickguard. Specifically, this one…

It has the notch at the heel of the neck since it's meant for American-made basses, but if that doesn't bother you, no sweat. It's a 99.5% perfect fit, and by that I mean one of the screw holes was off by about 1mm. In other words, no big deal.

Look at Allparts. I have a CV Precision and bought one of their guards, which was a 99% fit. I did have to shave a bit out of the pickup routs to allow for some wiggle room, but had no problem lining up the holes. Given that yours is a Jazz, YMMV.
