Static from my horn with one of my basses

Hey guys. Just got a new jazz bass and I noticed static coming from the tweeter on my cab. At first I thought I fried my tweeter but its fine with my other basses. Any ideas?

Forgot to mention the bass was used and its been taken apart and repainted, not by me.

You forgot to mention a lot of things. When you say "static" do you mean a kind of hiss like escaping steam or a crackling sound that seems to happen when you move the bass or chord?

Does the "static" become less if you turn down treble or highs (you also forgot to mention if the bass is passive or active)?

Does the "static" vary with knob settings or does moving a knob cause "static"?

All important things. Let us know.

It goes up and down with the volume knob. The bass is passive. Just a high pitched farting tweeter sound... But it went away.... I'm thinking dirty input jack.
