String Cleaners Out of date?

    Hi guys,

Lately I've been talking with my bass teacher at my music college and he told me about some unpleasant expierience he had with Dunlop String Cleaner.

He said that he once bought this little bottle of this fluid and after using it on new strings he noticed that sound of new strings soon became a sound of used strings. It's a one hell of a unpleasant expierience.

He also told me, that maybe the Dunlop String Cleaner was out of date.

So I started wandering - is it true? Could it really be so that we have some outofdated items in our shops for sale? And if we have, then how can I be sure that the item I bought is not outofdate and my new shiny string wouldnt loose their sexy sounds? Is there any hints on the bottle about the date? I couldnt find it.

Did anyone had similar expieriences? Please share with me your story with Dunlop String Cleaner. Maybe it's all just a unlucky accident that my teacher attracted into his world. :)

    Keep on!
