I have been researching 5'ers for string spacing, scale and in the category of overseas basses QA'ed in the States or equivalent

    for instance Lakland 55-01 55-02, 35" scale, 19 mm spacing -- generally 55-02 pups well-accepted

on somewhat the opposite end Zon Standard Sonus and Legacy 34" inch scale 17 mm spacing (maybe less)
Mosaic 35" scale generally well -accepted pups

Ken Smith burner 35" scale BUT tight spacing -- not a lot of chatter on quality of pups

(it seems one has to get over the $1100 level to get quality build and good electronics except for used)

Carvin LB75 34" scale tight spacing -- other have 'standard' 19mm spacing including the new PB5
less consensus on quality of pups -- often replaced

Brubaker Brute standard 19 mm spacing

Warwick corvette Rockbass standard 19 mm spacing

It seems in general any narrower spacing is more likely to be jazz like
there are those Fenders with jazz necks on Precision bodies and the Vintage modified Precision 5 has specs of 18 mm spacing

I'm used to narrower spacing on modern and jazz like basses and may be looking for a Precision with compatible neck scale and spacing
