    Hello fellow low end lovers!
Been reading for a while now,but this is my first post.

My question is,do you all prefer string thru basses or not?
Im just curious..mainly because i have 3 P basses,my 1976 is not a string thru,my 2006 is only a string thru, and my favorite bass is a 2013 it has the option to string thru the body,or just string it thru the bridge...Im mostly wondering about tonal differences, sustain differences.
I have a decent idea of what the differences are..but im still a noob IMHO lol. i have been playing pretty solid for 15 years, but would like some expert advice.
    Thanks,i will be watching:ninja:

They're both equal, no difference in tone/sustain.

You might want to try a search. This topic has been punished enough.

There is no difference in terms of tone or sustain but that bend
in the string created by a string-thru body can be hard on the
strings -- especially the larger diameter flatwounds.

I used to like string-thru bodies. I felt it reduced the stress on
the bridge screws. I thought that would be a good thing.
But later I started breaking flatwounds at that extra-sharp bend.
