Yesterday my D&G strings got stuck and jumped loose whilst intimating. Is there some sort of lube anyone would recommend to prevent this?

You were "intimating" your bass? Without lube?

    Chaffing is never good.

But assuming you meant intonating, I still have no idea what you're talking about.

I love my basses as much as the next guy on here, but I'd need much larger than a 1/4" output jack to get intimated with it.
    ...not to mention the lube.

Once the strings start intimating they're liable to land anywhere!

On a serious note, did they jump off the nut or off the bridge?

I once intimated with two basses. I'm still recovering, 'cause I got severely stuck before I finally jumped loose. The basses have been successfully reanimated, but will have to stay in their cases for a while... :meh:

    I concur..I haven't stopped laughing!

OP, something like what Slapinfunk suggested would work fine.

    :rollno:

Anyway, I use a push point pencil, just scribble on contact points. This works on my cello and its bridge and nut are both made of wood.
