Strings on stored basses

    Hello !

Every time I go to one of my basses that has been stored for several months, the strings are rough.

It doesnt matter how old or new they are when I store the bass. I really like old strings. When im playing a particular bass often (almost everyday) the strings feel "oily", the total opposite.

I wonder, instead of changing the strings, is there anything I can make to bring them back on?
    Anybody has similar issues?

    thanks !

Ok,so after 3 days of playing the bass, its back to were I left it. Dont need to change the strings, they are still old, but now they feel "oily" again.
