Stupid G&L question...

    Do the L and M series share the same body shape, they LOOK the same to me.....but I'm just seeing pics, I haven't put my hands on one. Why would one choose M series instead of L?

    If I'm not mistaken, it's the difference in preamp configuration. The L series has the classic G&L preamp and the M has the more common configuration which uses a balance control knob.

    M series has no passive mode available. That kills further consideration of it for me.

    Summary:

    L series: Passive and active bass
    Master Volume, 2 passive tone controls, 3-way pickup selector, series/parallel switch or coil selector (only on certain USA G&Ls), Preamp Off/On/On with treble boost

    M series:Active bass
    Master volume, blend control, 3 band EQ
