Stupid question about Kay's

    Disclosures:
    I teach bass at guitar center
    Are blonde Kay's made of the same wood is normal case is it just a pain job finish or varnish finish or something?… Which bases typically sound warmer? Is there a difference in sound?

    It is the finish that differs.

    What does this have to do with a Kay DB?

    Thank you so much that's exactly what I wanted to know.. Are there any Kay's made with ebony as the "fretboard"?

    Yes, there were Kays made with ebony fingerboards. In addition, many players have their rosewood fingerboards replaced with ebony fingerboards.
