The word "Legendary" is used very loosely here.

Only if the International world has heard of him.

This is one country. Local heroes can be complete unknowns overseas. I never heard of him until this post so legend, he ain't.

Like I said, the word Legend is used very loosely.

So you are the legend marker? I just don't think you have been paying attention.

Wha' the hell? Its TOMMY SHANNON for petesakes! OF COURSE he's a LEGEND! Geez, Johnny Winter only schooled him on how to play the blues when he was quite young. Although I'm sure your'e not familiar with him either.

Guess you havn't played a blues gig on bass yet? Not to sound rude, but really man, do some homework on that one before you post on a BASS WEBSITE. Too Funny.

Trolling? You've never listened to any SRV? I mean, I know who GG Beers is, does that make him a legend?

Perhaps, unlike the way they use it in Australia, Home of The Blues :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I wonder if Tommy Shannon eats Vegemite ? ....
That alone would be enough to make him a legend !

I don't understand this point of view. Most people in the world haven't heard of many legendary players, an obvious example being James Jamerson. Does this make him any less of a player?
Conversely, Sid Vicious is quite famous. Does that him a legendary bass player?

I am amazed at counter argument taking the form of personal insults.
This site is very interesting and very informative in the "Basses" and "Amps" section then it goes to hell after that.

Once someone asks for an opinion, it goes downhill with a turbo after that.

well man, for anyone who digs into music past the front man, Tommy Shannon is a legend!

For anyone who says "Led Zeppelin? Yeah, he's great", maybe not.
