The most depressing thing I have ever seen

    Hello,



    This cabinet would likely handle this wattage no problem, you want to take care not to overdrive the speaker or send really low frequencies at that wattage, excessive volume could overheat the speaker coil. But at a typical playing volume, within the normal range of frequencies used on a 4 string bass, you should be fine.

    As a customer support operator, I find extremely annoying when people post my name or work address on forums. I don't doubt for a second it's not this guy's choice to put that in his email sig, so I think it would be sensible to edit out his name.

    If that's the most depressing thing you've ever seen you need to get out more.
    Could be much, much worse. Like, the brand could have ceased to exist. You got a prompt, detailed reply from the new folks (some of whom may actually be old Genz employees). Life goes on.
    It's a bit like going to your favorite restaurant and seeing a sign that reads 'Grand Re-Opening--Under New Ownership.'
    Don't worry about it just yet.

    I think he's trying to make a point about emailing Genz Benz and getting an answer from a Fender employee, but Genz Benz is owned by Fender since 2008.

    To address his point, times change, things change, and Jeff Genzler voluntarily sold the company years ago and knew the implications.

    Yeah, the OP's life must be pretty good/sheltered. In the scheme of depressing things in life, that seems pretty inconsequential.

    And yes, ought to remove the CS rep's name, etc.

    You're right. Thanks for catching that. It's on Fender's site, they purchased KMC in Jan 2008. I've edited my post to reflect that.

    Leaving contact information on a public board post like that disregards professional courtesy and violates that boundary.

    Especially if the intent was to start a "rat pack" of "FMIC is the devil, now that they own Genz Benz they are gonna go straight down the toilet....."

    That's like pushing the FMIC rep out in front of a bus without him knowing about it. He was just doing his job, quite well it seems, by answering the question.

    That's not right.

    It looks to me like you got good information from the support group. For folks in many parts of the world, the global Fender service network is how they get service and parts. In the USA and Canada, both KMC and Fender can provide support. I am also available here to support our products.

    All of the Fender and KMC customer service reps that I have ever worked with are good folks. Without a doubt, they have more patience than I do and they deal with customer issues all day long. How many of you guys would last more than a day doing that work? I know I wouldn't!
