Am I blind or is there really not a thread on these yet?

Gravity is cleaning up... unfortunately. Also, lol'd at how off time the performance of Let it Go was. (and here's a link!)

I watched them with my wife. I enjoyed it, but I thought there were some awkward moments here and there.

I heard that "Mr Hublot" won Best Animated Short. Great choice!

Yes, the timing was way off on that song. It was not good at all.

Also, I do not think that Ellen DeGeneres is funny in any way.

The other thing is the orchestra performing for some of the music is not even in the same building.

yeah, Ellen, whatever. I mean the pizza joke was not a good one and they dragged it on... i wish they'd bring back Jon Stewart but most people hated him when he did it. Or even better, give it to Ricky Gervais.

As for the wins, well aside from the Leto win, the rest didn't offend me, which is rare. I love Cate Blanchett and was glad she won another one. Glad for McConaughey who's turning out to be one of the best of his generation in his "older" age, though his speech...i don't know...being your own hero and all...whatever. I'd have preferred Chiwetel but he'll win one some day, no doubt about that.

Ellen doesn't strike me as terribly funny in the standup comedian way, but I do enjoy her way of communicating and how she goes out of her way to be inclusive of those around her.

You noticed that, did you? I don't think we're supposed to notice that.

I didn't watch it but I overheard a bit as it was on in the other room.

Call me old fashioned but I still make a distinction between movie stars and television stars. To me, Ellen DeGeneres and the others mentioned here are too TV for the show, even though it's a TV show. Having TV stars takes away from the glamour of it.

Also, I could be wrong but did I hear Bette Midler massacre her own song?

You are correct my friend. She loaded it with many vocal gymnastics and notes that did not fit.
