Thinking about trading my SB14?

Love the fit and finish of my sterling by musicman sb14, but thinking of trading it for a squier VM 5 string bass. The neck pocket is tighter and better then my 08' MIA jazz, which makes it hard to give up. I'm just a fender guy in that I am always try to make it sound like my jazz. I want a 5 string VM so I can't replace the nut and adding a high C string (no more B). Any opinions? Is it worth it to keep a bass you don't play? I know they stopped making the sb14 (way better then the SUB4) and it's worth more then the squire. I just love the sound of the VM with a maple body. May have to Craigslist it for trade.
