What did you change to when Fender put out those garbage strings they are producing now? Is there anything that is close to the old 8250s? They really are perfect strings for american standards! nice and deep and even.
I tried sunbeams and found them very weak sounding...and too loose feeling.
I had a set of lo riders and sold them before trying them! should I try those next?

yeah....I have a fresh set of the old ones with the gray silks on a new to me 08 standard jazz...and they sound fantastic! figures they changed string makers and the new ones sux! I emailed Fender and asked them if they would tell me who used to make their strings so maybe I can find something close to them! lol I know they wont tell me but at least its telling them their new strings are horrible.

Thats a good idea sadowsky blacks....I tried the sadowsky blues and didnt really like them but didnt try the blacks yet....I think I will order one.
I put the blues on a sterling classic and didnt think they were deep enough....kind of weak sounding like the sunbeams.
I have sadowsky flats on my P select and they sound and feel fantastic!

theres pretty much no other tapered E nickels roundcore....most are steel.

I like Fender's pure nickel 7150s! I can't speak to the changes in 8250s or 7250s as I've not bought them in years.
