Thoughts on this setup. Hartke/Eden

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by johnson79, Feb 25, 2014.

  1. So I have the opportunity to get this setup for free. I accrue points at work and can use them for all sorts of stuff. It looks like they've partnered with Best Buy and these seem like the options I'll be able to go for.

    It's a Hartke LH500 head and Eden EX40SC4 cab.
The head seems like it will be fine, but does anyone have any experience with this cab? It's rated 400W at 4 ohms.
100W under the head's rating is a concern. I can always skip the cab and get a used one that might be better. Just not a lot of info available on this Eden.

Any thoughts? I play punk/indie/rock. Don't need a monster, just something for small bars or clubs.

I have no experience with Eden cabs but, as long as you don't crank it up full blast it should be fine. Just listen for any signs of distortion or any other signs of distress from the cab and you are good to go.

Wattage ratings are all but meaningless. Use common sense, and the pairing will work. If it's not loud enough, double up on the cab.
