Does anyone else wish that they would hold off on the Christmas holiday advertisements at least until December? I like Christmas time just as much as the next guy, but I just get burned out on it by the time it arrives.

Sorry, I had to. But I do agree, one week of Christmas music is good for me. As it is I usually want to terribly defile Bing Crosby's grave around Mid-December.

I was over christmas a week ago.

I work for a high-end special events company and for the last 2 weeks i have been doing nothing but getting decorations ready for a couple of holiday installs. For just ONE house I'm talking about a hundred feet of decorated garland; a 7', 9' and a 12' tree all fully lit and decorated as well, 25 wreaths lit and decorated... probably about 250 strands of LED lights just for this one house. That's not even including the stuff we have to do onsite.

The worst part is i've been covered in glitter every day and i can't use "A trip to the Strip Club with the boys" as an excuse for it. :spit:

    I'm on board with that.

These are hard times for everyone. The retailers feel much pain. I know.... I had to close the doors on my business a few months ago.

It's more like there is "too much commercialism of Christmas" than Christmas itself.

I haven't seen any Christmas stuff yet. In fact, I feel like they've been holding off a lot this year. I've been to Target twice hoping they'd at least have lights out already but they haven't.

Yes! My wife works at a Michael's, they started getting Christmas stuff in by mid-October.

Chicago will light its Christmas tree downtown 2 days before Thanksgiving. That seems about right.

Anyone who works retail is sick of it already. We've had lights in our store since the beginning of july, and the tree displays since the third week of july. It gets earlier every year. Plus we get to hear the music starting a week before thanksgiving up until 3 days after xmas itself.

After Thanksgiving is fine by me, I can endure a month of it as I actually like the atmosphere.
That said, in some places here the xmas crap was out before Halloween!! That's just nuts.
