The tone knob on my pbass works, but it's either all the way on or all the way off.

If I turn the knob down while playing a note, right before it's all the way off there's a little crackle and then the tone comes down. There's no change until it hits that crackle.

    The volume works fine.

What do I need to do to fix that?

Probably just a lil dust. Turn it fast up and down several times I leave mine set so i get that as well when I do use it. But its not very audible trhu the amp durirng a show worst case is a bad pot which are a few bux so cheap easy fix

Try some pot cleaner to get rid of the crackle.

Could dust be preventing the tone control from changing the tone incrementally rather than just all the way on or all the way off?
