    so I have a yba3 and I need a fan cover.
it is the pre 71 model so the fan is built into the side of the headshell instead of internally like the later models and the yba-1

the fan doesn't have a cover though, and that freaks me out because I wanna keep my fingers..

anybody know where I can find a replacement?

You can get a metal grill for that fan at amy good electronic's part supplier .... you may have to build up the attachment with washers to clear the lip that is on the outer circumference or just replace the fan woth a newer unit ... I believe it is standard size

Mouser Electronics, Digi-Key or Allied Electronics would be good places to start.

OP, you did not fill out your profile fully so none of us know where you live. I have more than a few of those grilles. I'll gladly send you one if you like. Just measure the distance between diagonal mounting holes so I can be certain of the required size.
