    Hi eveyrone

I´m looking for one tuning key for my Peavey T20 bass guitar. I already wrote to Peavey, they don´t sell it anymore (no wonder, since this bass guitar was built in 1983). Any info about where to get a compatible tuning key for this model will be very appreciated.

    Cheers!

Need pictures. There were two different types of tuners used on t20s. Both by schaller, one had standard elephant ears, the other resembling grover titans.

Are you saying the Grover Titans found on early Peavey basses were not made by Grover, but were Schaller clones? Interesting.

I suspect the "other" machines to be Schallers spec'd by Peavey, because they don't seem to have been used by any other builders, just Peavey.

Typically found on T-20's, early Furys and the Foundation into the mid 80's. Then they seem to have disappeared altogether. I think I've had every quality tuner made but these are my all time faves.

Good luck finding a used set, or a single tuner. Been watching for them for several years, never seen any for sale. Not ever.

Nope. But if I had seen the photo, rather than the link, I would have known that they were different.

I saw that the title said he was looking for T-20/T-40 tuners. I have had many T-40s over the years and I know what those look like without referencing the photos.

It seems that the T-20 tuners are different. Thanks for pointing that out.

So, I´m still in the search, I guess. Thanks for the help, though.

The pic in my post is the pic in the OP's link; there's been no guessing on my part.

Those are very nice tuners. The little black allen nuts on the bottom tighten up the gear lash. They do occasionally show up on ebay after a part out or a switch to black hardware. Definitely worth the wait till they show up.

    They are still out there.

Recently I bought a set in a store that had to close down.

Just 20 euro's, so keep searching, call as many shops as you can.

    Good luck.

Those look like the Schaller keywinds I referenced for the T-40. Danomite64 has exhaustingly pointed that out. He will not be happy about this! ;) :bag:

Here a picture of tuners of a T40 I sold a few months ago.

I think it was from 1978 or 1979.
