I just got this bass last week. Wanted to use it in my current band but it doesn't have the tone I'm looking for. I always wanted to own a Warwick but I can't justify keeping it if I'm not gigging it.

Very beautiful instrument and the fingerboard IS wenge.

I'll post some picture of the cosmetic issues, previous owner did a great job photographing it.

What kind of tone are you looking for? It might just be a matter of swapping out the pickups and preamp. Because this bass is mostly made of maple, you would be able to get that "tone" you want with the right electronics package.

Thank you for your suggestion I wish it were that simple. I'm looking for an ash body bass or pedulla fretless. The electronics in the bass are fantastic! The bassline really make the instrument sing. I prefer the tone of ash to maple. Simply changing the electronic wouldn't change how the strings vibrate. The wood will and that's what I am after.

Yeah. If it's a difference in wood then the electronics won't help you. GLWTS!
