Was it Illsley?

  1. Talking about Sultans Of Swing here and I've got a question.

There seems to be a 'gallop' or fast 'roll' while the bass is thumping the intro - well, pretty much all the way through the song.

I use an Db/D rock with a 32nd C as the segue onto the D. I've watched the videos and think I've got it pretty much nailed spot-on, but I'm just wondering if I'm missing something that's not obvious in the videos.

I've tried plugging 2nds into it and they sound good if used sparsely though.

Ennyway, it sounds good what I'm doing.

It's "Sultans Of Swing." Your last sentence says it all.

  4. Kinda wot I think. What I dislike about that song is that Knopfler changes his part all the time according to how he feels I guess. Such is stardom - he can noodle all over the boards and get away with it.

Me? I gotta at least try to make it recognizable.
