kay guitars are cool, but strange. my friends kay SG is the wierdest guitar I'v ever seen.

for starters,it's an sg with a bigsby, and the guitar looks home made.
the pickups have fake leather on them, and the strap button is on the back of the neck at about the 16th fret. it has blackface knobs, and and it's plywood. a good guitar, but very unorthodox, and it seems like it was made by someone who doesn't know much about guitars.

    it does sing though.

    Hi.

You mean uncontrollable screeching feedback squeal every time something resembling a gig volume is attempted?

I had the bass version of that SG once a looong time ago, still may have the swimming pool-routed body lying around somewhere.

Total crap, any way You put it. IME anyway.

The solid bodies were considered sub-standard back in the day, and for a very good reason. I have no personal experience about their "better" models, like the one in question by op.
I wouldn't hold my breath though...

BTW, weren't there a thread a while back about someone re-discovering their childhood dream bass, only to be let down by the abysmal build quality, and then he had a luthier make him one that looked exactly the same.
Less the abysmal build quality and hardware, obviously ;).

    Regards
    Sam
