What Color is this Fender Bass??

    I can't figure it out...
    It looks kind of greenish and metallic so at first I was thinking Jade Pearl Metallic, but it doesn't look anything like other basses in that finish.
    Maybe it's a gold finish? I can't tell.
    I've been on Google trying to figure it out for about 30 minutes now. Finally decided to just make a thread.
    Thanks for any input.

    Charcoal Frost? (with a yellowed clearcoat)

    Seen that, I am pretty much 100% certain that if thats the original MIM body that came with that neck then its a refinish. MIM fenders never were made that color. Then again all the body parts are not stock fender stuff so it maybe a aftermarket body like warmoth thats been painted and a MIM neck was used.

    Could be. How old is the bass?
    One of our guitar players has a late 80's/early 90's Strat he bought new that was Charcoal Frost, but has turned that greenish color over the years.

    Looks like a 1983 Elite that has been modified. I've heard it referred to has "Gun Metal Gray" and "Pewter." Of course, my monitor is old and I may be way off.

    I don't have a year on it. I can't be sure, but I don't think it's very old.
    It's on the GC Used site so maybe I'll give them a call and see if they know anything.

    That's a MIM neck, and a lot of swapped parts. So I'm with A-Step here in saying that's gotta be a refin. Looks like quite a bit of orange peel texture in the light reflection to me.

    It looks like shoreline gold to me, just a really dark shade of it.

    That's kind of what I was thinking too.
    But I'm inclined to go with the popular opinion that it's either not a Fender body or that it's been refinished.

    I went ahead and bought it, so I guess we'll find out.

    That's vintage I left the guacamole out for an hour. Nice bass.

    Nope. I'd leave it alone, or maybe go for a parchment.
