This USA J. Backlund Design JBD-800B bass is probably going to be joining me soon. I am pondering what color to finish it.

My fiirst thought was a cool white to blackburst with light metallic sort of like one of the reissue Danelectros I once had.

But, I'm not sold on that. So, TBers, please suggest some colors!

looks like retro futuristic with that pickguard. Seafoam or shell pink for me, maybe sonic blue? Matching headstock or not?

Surf green for me. Sonic blue would be cool too.

I'd say something suited for the stage/audience you play for: for the rockabilly component you already have that retro shape and "pickguard", so I'd choose something more or less "conservative" for the finish (not to allienate the pop component of your repertoire). That means: no kitsch decorations, no aggressive shiny sparkly accents. Maybe a translucent orange ? Like this:[IMG]

I'm with these guys. Something evocative of the [DEL]50's or 60's[/DEL] Jetsons for sure.

Daphne Blue or Sonic Blue would look nice. Matching headstock too.

AAAHHHH!!!!!!!! The Marcus Orange Bass! One of the most beautiful ever, so I'd not even think about copying it or close to it! But thanks!

I love me some Surf Green; but when I looked at that bass, the first thing I thought of was Shoreline Gold.

For me it's begging for Burgundy Mist Metallic. If you want to go wild, burst the edges with ReRanch's Royal Crown Purple.
