What to do about my bass making "White Noise?"

    The other day, my bass started making a hissing and faint buzzing noise when I'm not playing it. (Like being silent in a certain part of a song).

    I took the back cover off to see if there was a problem with the wiring. Here's a photo of what I found: https://www.dropbox.com/s/esptunj4nkqwsuw/photo (9).JPG

    IS the wire the problem, and what is the best way to fix it?

    Well, I can't view the pic atm, but you should shield your bass. I had the buzzing noise, and rewiring my amp didn't fix it. I was not expecting much, but holy crap, I can now turn my tone knob all the way up without buzzing or clicking...

    If it is an active bass replace the battery. (can't tell from the photo)
