What's your dream amp?

No holds barred, spare no expense, use your imagination.

Here's what I was thinking about today.

300 watt all tube power section with built in speaker-level di.

Tube preamp with sweepable high pass and low pass filters, 4 band fully parametric eq, all of which are servo controlled and Bluetooth enabled, allowing them to be controlled through a mobile app. A simple, one button ts foot switch to switch between 2 user-defined settings (using the servos of course).

Shareable presets in the mobile app, and factory presets of famous amps.

The digital portion of this amp only works the defeatable servos. If it dies, the amp will still work fine as a fully analog design.

Is that really to much to ask? Ha!

I wonder how much something like this would cost?

    What's your dream amp?

I can think of little that I would want less than the system you describe. Sorry. The amplification that I currently use fulfills all my needs.

Not much imagination in this post, and I already have maybe 2/3 of my dream rig. Instead of my SVT Cl a 70s SVT (Blueline?) and instead of my 4X10 Ampeg Cl cab, 2 8x10 cabs. Oh, and while we're on fantasy island, 4 redheads (2 per cab) and 2 blondes (for the amp) to haul it around for me.

Oh. I thought your thread title referred to an existing, actual model of amp head - not ideal features of an amp that doesn't actually exist. :meh:

That said, there isn't any one make/model I would love to get. No holds barred, I'd love to have one of each of the following:

    • TC Electronic Blacksmith
    • Genz Benz GBE 1200
    • Mesa Boogie Titan V12
    • Hartke Kilo
    • TecAmp Bad Bull 2000
Yeah, I've got a real fetish for high-powered, all-the-bell-and-whistles amps.

    Let me guess...

    You're a drummer.

    :)

You're off topic... The point is to share what YOUR dream rig is ... Whether it be actualised or not

    I only need about 600W

I think an all tube preamp would be good.
(Like a Jules Monique) Feed this into a separate power amp driving a 2x12 cab.

    That would be plenty...

If I needed more, I'd rely on the FOH ...

I have four dream rigs already...

    69 SVT/73 SVT 810
    13 Heritage SVT-CL/Heritage SVT 810e
    64 B-15N
    13 V4B with two SVT 210av's from 10 and 11

I don't know how it gets much dreamier.

Right now, the most realistic "dream" rig is a Marshall DBS7400 and a pair of Avatar TB153's.

Crazy dream rig is a Trace Elliot V8 and a pair of Trace 1248's.

Well, this was the basis of my op dream rig, but I wanted more eq control and remotely, because I use my wireless for sound checks and I hate walking back and forth for eq adjustments.

Come on, man. Dare to dream.

Mywatt 200. Clone of Hiwatt DR201.
    I own one...

If I had a wishlist: built in dummy load when running through DI. Weight reduction: 17 kg should be possible instead of 22. 2 leightweight 115 Neos, maybe with extended treble range (but not necessarily tweeters).

An then a compact 100 W all tube amp weighing only 11 kg for sessions and the like. My Dynacord Eminent 2 PA amp comes pretty close...

I would really love to have everything Aguilar or Markbass. Man, that would be so awesome.

Nobody is stupid enough to actually pay me to play their gear.
I am lucky that I have found tonal nirvana in my Monique pre, Demeter Minnie poweramp and 2 Berg AE210 cabs.

    I am done!

    ....for now!
