A Swimwear bottom and snorg tees top would maybe signal you're a real TBer.

  6. It depends on the music you play and the image you want to convey, as well as whether you are male (limited options) or female (far more options - my wife is amused when we're out shopping clothes for her and I complain about how women have all the cool paisley prints available but men have none).

Do a Google search for "men retro clothing" or "men mod clothing" to find some places online. Visit thrift / secondhand stores. Browse the JC Penneys / Belks / Macy's clearance racks with an open mind.

Go to the mall and follow the cool looking people. No joke. Also look for anything with "boutique" in the name.

Back when I went for a hipper, wilder stage look (before I got to be middle-aged, where such a look would be a bit pathetic) I found a lot of cool stuff at thrift shops.

Vintage bowling shirts were the perfect accessory when playing in a blues trio. Rayon is a musicians best friend.

I second what Personatech suggested. Especially going through clearance racks at dept. stores like Macy's. Most of the wilder stuff ends up there.

The attic at home, or wherever your folks/grandparents store their old clothes.

Goodwill store, consignment shops, thrift stores.

Basically any place someone who bought something then decided it was too flashy, too gaudy, etc., would dump it.

And don't forget your friendly neighborhood army navy store. Lot's of cool clothes from militaries all over the world, especially the dress uniform stuff.

Whatever you do, please don't wear a flannel shirt and grow a beard like some urban woodsman

Eh...you look like you've earned the beard. In that case, get the flannel shirt. And maybe some skinny jeans.

Any kids in the family? Just borrow theirs.

If this is your band I definitely recommend a broad assortment of pastel/sorbet colored tuxedos.

They're very comfy for the portly, even in hot weather.
