Widening string spacing on an Ibanez SR506

    I dig the bass in general but I would like a bit more space in between strings. If I placed an aftermarket bridge with a wider spacing The only thing I would need to worry about is if the wider angle puts the B and C strings off the neck in the higher frets right?

    No, you'll still have to worry about getting the bills paid on time and that noise your car is making but as far as the bass is concerned, that's one consideration. :D

    Also, make sure saddles aren't too high and there's room to keep them off the deck.

    Also make sure the outer strings are still able to be "seen" by the pickups.

    I looked at the BTB but the weight was an issue.

    I just wanted to see if a six string was doable (it very much is) and the sr506's price was right :)
