Hey, anyone know what the largest gauge you can put in a kahler or hipshot tremolo? I use giant subcontra strings and I wanna be sure I can fit them before I rout out my bass. Thanks

i emailed hipshot and kahler asking what the largest size string they can fit in their tremolos. as of yet this is what i have. if anyone out there has either trem and a pair of calipers, it would be great if you could share your knowledge.

    "Hello Clint,

    Thank you for your question!
There is builder in the UK who uses a .200" bass string with our saddles. He has never expressed any issues, so I will have to say a .200".
    Thanks!

total side note here but I just snapped a string hook on my Kahler guitar trem trying to fit a .074. wammiworld.com seems to have options for heavier gauges on kahler
