Completely made by hand by James Cook at Woodspeak Design Guitars in Freeport, Maine.

Semi-hollow alder body finished in olympic white nitro

'62 Jazz reissue-inspired quarter-sawn maple neck and rosewood fretboard with 12" radius, also finished in nitro

    Hipshot ultra light tuners

    Hipshot vintage bridge

Nordstrand NJ4 vintage style single coil pickups, passive vol-vol-tone.

Noble 250k ohm pots with Spraque orange drop cap and ebony knobs

Stupid light at 7 lbs. 2 oz.!!

There are a couple of imperfections in the finish, but nothing noticeable more than 2 feet away. One small ding on
    the back of the neck.

Just a fantastic instrument with top notch construction and setup, plays like butter and sounds great!

James is a bassist and talented luthier who worked many years under master builder Dana Bourgeois at Bourgeois
Guitars. He uses that same high level attention to detail on his solid bodies as well. He hand picks and tone tests the
raw woods and then matches the neck and body for the best match.

    $1200 shipped, CONUS only

Comes in Gator semi-rigid lightweight case

Played it- great bass- hand-made semi-hollow body- can't beat it when compared to other "custom" basses bump

Another price reduction, now $1300....great bass for the money!

Only selling to have James make me another in my preferred ash body, maple fretboard version.

Not to ask a cliche, but how's the balance? Headstock looks big and with the hollow body wondering if it takes an immediate dive in your lap. Also, can you point out the blems and the ding on the neck?

Balances great!..very slight, slight neck dive (hate to call it that cause it's so minimal) that I don't really notice unless I'm focused on it.

I've had basses with real neck dive and it's nothing even remotely close to that, doesn't move, doesn't require holding up in position.

    Imperfections...3 small dimples like this:

A little paint chip at the neck pocket:

And a small indent on the neck:
