Yamaha BB800 Bass, Made In Japan, 1979

This is a very nice, P-Bass styled instrument from Yamaha. The BB800 was a higher-end model than the more common BB300s with a dark-cherry finished alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, 1 11/16” nut width. Great feeling neck, frets in great shape, recently dressed. The bass weighs 9.3 lbs. All original equipment but the pickup has been replaced with a Lindy Fralin P-Bass pickup. (original Yamaha pickup also included). The P pickup configuration is split-coil in reverse. The bass is in very good condition, a little wear here and there, nothing major. The original case is included which is fine on the inside, a little rough on the outside, but the latches all work. A great sounding and playing bass with the excellent workmanship of 70s-80s Made In Japan basses! This model was nicknamed “The P-Bass Killer” :)

These are great basses, and this looks like a great specimen. Also one of the cleanest-looking PU replacements I've seen on an old Yamaha BB - a lot of people have taken a rougher approach. GLWTS!
