The TalkBass WHAT?
Well, you're probably familiar with Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia written by the public. This wiki is similar, only we're all about the bass, focusing on terms, issues and concepts related to bass playing. Why not just use Wikipedia? Two reasons: First, we'll publish articles that Wikipedia would deem too 'niche', such as articles on specific types of basses and strings, or guides on how to modify a bass guitar (Wikipedia currently only has 7 entries in it's "bass guitar" category. Second, articles published here are bass-specific - for example, a terminology entry in Wikipedia will give you the general definition, while the entry here would ideally define the term as it applies to a bass guitarist.
This is an evolving beast - it is here to serve the TalkBass community, and will be shaped by the TB community. We're looking forward to seeing where it goes :)
