Varying degrees of a pleasant, natural sounding, harmonically complex tone incorporating a full to fat roundness with a unique presence, clarity, and often air that is noticeably void of isolated peaks and brittle, sibilant/harsh, or artificial/synthetic qualities. Typically associated with vacuum tubes from early overload stage and beyond, to a lessor degree with analog devices, and in an acoustic instrument by brass wind instruments.
