Any interest in a hand built one (Big Muff PI)? The circuitry is top quality (built by a pro in Canada), and it's housed in an electrical junction box (snug fit). It's pretty funny looking -- qualiy knobs, LED, DC jack, but in this small electrical box. I can get pics and sound clips of it if you're interested.
[I can snap more, but basically the in and out jacs are on the top two corners, and the DC jack is on the lower right corner. The bottom is the standard plate that goes on junction boxes like this. I don't have rubber feet for it unfortunately; also, the knobs should be marked volume, tone, SUSTAIN.]
How 'bout $60 plus shipping. About what a stock commercial BMP, but you're getting a hand-built pedal, true bypass, and its purported to sound better (I have no frame of reference to confirm that).
It will have three matching knobs (i'll replace the black one with a matching one). Not pretty, but quality underneath.
hahahahahaha, that looks totally awesome. oh man, let me think it over a few days. haha, that thing is rad. would it be a pain in the ass later to replace the casing with something not so city-utility looking?
LOL -- totally -- not only did i get into the fact that junction boxes only cost a buck, but there's something very comforting about looking down and seeing that lump of steel and knowing it's a pedal :-D
Putting it in a better box would be a small amount of work -- there's a company that makes aluminum boxes called Hammond (and there are other companies that make cheaper ones that are just as good); a box for this would run $8-10. Drill a few holes, unscrew the parts from the old box, screw into the new box. The only soldering involved would be the DC jack which is made in a pretty silly way -- you actually have to disconnect the wires to pop it in...but not too bad.
The other type of box I make is from steel stud material -- fold down the sides, pop rivet the corners, and then there are a couple of options of putting a bottom on it.
Cheers!

Sorry buddy, but I got someone jumped on it, and it's sold. If you liked the look, and the idea of a custom built BMP, I could build one for ya that is the same circuitry (I'm not a pro, but I can make these kinds of pedals fine).
