I bought this bass in 1998 from Chesapeake Bass Shop in Maryland. It was labeled "Lidl". I upgraded to an ebony fretboard around 2001. The only issue is the neck joint. The bass fell and the neck popped off. My luthier glued it back on but, was unable to fit it back in flush due to the fact that I didn't know any better and tried to glue it with wood glue. 
The joint has never moved since it was fixed in 1999 and is solid. I've got cheapo nylon strings on it now but, I can put a set of D'darrio hybrids on it if you wish.
Other features are an adjustable bridge, a cover, and a stand.
