"The bass is labeled "Matthew Charles Bollinger, Sydney 1993." The two-piece maple back has a prominent figure ascending from the the center joint. The ribs are of similar maple. The neck and the scroll are of fairly plain maple. The two-piece spruce top has a narrow width grain throughout. The varnish is red-brown in color."

This instrument is in excellent condition and the sound is strong. This hand-made instrument has previously been played in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Fort Worth Orchestra and the Dallas Opera Orchestra. The instrument is currently in Denton, Tx (near Dallas). Pictures are available on request.
