I am after a cab to compliment my Eden Metro, which I nearly got rid of. Thank goodness a fellow TB'er talked some sense into me. :D

I posted one thread looking for an Aggie GS112. I am also considering an Eden D115XLT, 210XLT or 210XST. I doubt I will be disappointed with any of those choices. Perhaps you have another suggestion? Let me know.

Whatever I buy must be 8ohms.

Whatever deal falls together first will be the one I buy. I have cash.

To bad you live in Washington. I have a 410 XST I bought a week after 911 and used it twice. I'm going to have to move it. But by time you throw in shipping. I'm asking $800.00 for the cab. Might seem high but it's like brand new.

Yeah, that's too bad. Well, I only want a 210 anyway. Thanks for the offer.

I play an Eden Metro with a 210 xlt and it is the best rig I have owned since I started playing bass. I almost traded my Metro for a WT 800 about 4 months ago, but I am glad I hung on to it. It is a bitch to lug around but the tone is awesome.

jimbass55.....Thank you for the input. I nearly unloaded my Metro as well.

For me, it is down to either the 115XLT, or the 210XLT. Haven't made a final decision yet.

The D210XLT will work but IMO gives you more of what you already have. The 115 OTOH adds the thump of a 15 to the punch of the built-in 210. If you want both, go with the 115. If you just want louder and more full add the 210.

At one point I owned a Metro, two D210XLTs and did try one 210 with a single 15. That's what my observations are based on.

Brad...you rock bro..

The more I think about it, the more I realize I want more low end thump than volume. So, it'll either be the 115XLT, or the Nahas 115. I prefer the Nahas, but the Eden would "look" better.

Mike,

I have an Eden D115-T that I have just completely reconditioned that I was going to post on the 'Bay this weekend. I bought it used last year and have since reconed the speaker (by Eden), replaced the crossover, and replaced the tweeter diaphragm (thank God for spell check), and put on the new style badge on the grill.

In essence, it is a new cabinet. The carpeting and grill are also in excellent condition. Since the rebuild it has very few hours no gigs on it.

Interested?

Definitely! PM me your price, with shipping. I am in a bit if a hurry to make a deal. I got one brewing with another TB'er right now.

First guy with the best deal wins.

I agree, the Eden will match the look of the Metro. The Nahas cabs OTOH wouldn't look that out of place, at least the ones with black carpeting and flat black baffleboard. I just painted both of my 'boards and my horn flat black and I think they look great.

I just stopped by Joey Nahas' new shop last night with a friend who took delivery of his second Nahas rig. He and Joey had had discussions about what he was trying to get sonically (more presence, clarity and punch in the upper mids) and it'll be interesting to see if he got what he wanted.

Joey made him a 1-15 with horn cab with a matching 1-12/1-10 with horn cab. I played my Spalted Brubaker 5 through it. The 1-15 (a bit bigger than my 1-15) sounded pretty good alone, the 12/10 sounded very good alone, the combination of the two would get me kicked out of most places... I'd have way too much fun watching stuff vibrate off tables;)

He also has some monster 2-12 cabs there, we ran them in a pair and then singly and either way those things kill. They have to be heard. If I had more gigs where I needed to be seriously loud while still getting my tone I'd be all over these. As it is my 1-15/1-12 combo is killin'...

and I still want more:D

Yeah....I am totally wanting to get a Nahas rig. If someone would have bought my Metro, I'd be the owner of a couple Nahas cabs right now myself.

Ask Joey about the weights on his cabs. The last time I asked him about how he makes his cabs, he said something like "as heavy as I can!" I don't know if he only build Road-Ready-style cabs, but an armored 1x12 is not something I need...

Weight is not an issue for me. I have friends who love to load and unload my gear. Even if the stop, I still have my son. :D

I was offered a Bergantino 310 and some cash for the Metro...somewheres around $300. Got me tempted all of the sudden to let it go.

I am at work and didn't have time to read all of the responses, so forgive me if I speak out of context or cover something that is already been said, but since I started this discussion in the "Wanted Section" I will reply.

I also have a 1x15 that I use when I play outdoors or big room gigs, but if I had my preference I would have (2) 210xlt's to run with the Metro (2 8 ohm cabs will run @ 2 ohms=600watts wow!) as opposed to any 1x15. If you haven't had much experience with the 210xlt's, I would play them before you decide on any 1x15. They have more low end than any other 2x10 I have played or heard, and the sound is very "tight". (I double on Upright, so this is very important to me)

I also know a great player around town that uses an Eden head with the Eden 2x10xlt/Eden 1x15 setup and his sound is great as well. (For Both Upright and Electric)

Bottom line is let your ears be the judge, but don't be afraid that the 2x10xlt won't be deep enough. The compromise leans toward the 2x10 for my setup, but either way Eden rules.

I have had about 15 basses and tons of head/cabs chasing "my tone".

For me it is Leo Fender through Eden equipment with Monster or Planet Wave cables and nothing else!!! (For now anyway)

Joey, another bassist and I were discussing this just last night. Yes, the 210 can give an abundance of lows, usually more than the single 15. What they don't do as well is "thump". I realized years ago that extended low end wasn't the be all end all for me, from my triamp days with JBL 4530 cabs right up to trying Acmes. What I realized was I wanted that kick in the butt that a good 15 can give. The lows are still great AND there's a physicality to the sound.

Nothing quite like feeling your playing hitting you in the chest;)

Joey was half-joking. His choice for personal use, because he's a pro sound guy who has no problem moving solid gear around in addition to being a bassist, might be his two 1-18 and two 2-12 four cab rig. To hear this thing is a thing of beauty. Tone and ridiculous volume.

His road ready cabs are heavy (at least some of them are). They're also what I don't use. As great as they sound I don't want to be saddled with schlepping that kind of weight. Then again he has a front ported road ready version of the rig I use that might be 15-20 lb. heavier. Plus it looks pretty damn cool IMO. Even cooler with the matching racks he builds. IIRC the road ready little 1-12 might've been around 45-50 lb. Not bad at all IMO.

The hard edges could be murder on the the interior of a car, they're meant to withstand professional abuse and still look good. Best suited for the back of a truck.

OTOH the rig I use consist of a 400w 1-12 w/horn that weighs less than 40 lb. The matching deep 400w 1-15 weighs ~45 lb. Both are very easy to move. Both carpeted with nice hardware. My whole rig weighs in at 100 lb. total.

He runs the gamut from weekend warrior to roady proof.

Here are my main cabs...
