is it a regular jazz bass pickup under the cover? Could I swap it out with dimarzio humcanceling pickups for example?

Well it is a jazz pup under the cover.. I think you'll need assistance from an experience luthier..
What i saw there was copper foil covering the bottom. I think with a little time and patience it may work out for you.. the Aggie pre is massive.

but it assumes a pickup without a cover under there? The sadowsky/dimarzio pickup is sealed to the cover i believe...

Precisely! Nordstrand would probably work better or any other pup that may not be stuck to a cover. Or even vintage Dimarzio's,.
