This is the original pickguard from a 1993 Fender MIA "boner" Jazz Bass. They are difficult to find. Moreover, there is nobody who makes an aftermarket replacement for these. I know, because after searching for an eternity, I had one hand-made for my '93. I still have this original, though, and need the money more than the extra pickguard.
Parts for "boner" basses have gone up wildly in price as more people are grabbing up these basses and are realizing how fantastic they were and how few there are to buy nowadays. I have been able to find no 'market price' for these pickguards, but I think $35 is probably the low end.
It is a simple guard...black, and not as brittle as most PG material. I'm not sure what the composition is. Looks good, especially on the burst models.
There are no marks on the guard...the apparent bad places are artifacts from the camera flash. I can send you a better pic if you are interested.
