So- I picked up a (new) Squier VM P-body... asked a friend of mine to paint it! I told him to 'do whatever he wanted'... he 'had at it' and this is what he came up with... it is actually quite glossier than the pics show... he used a clear coat that he uses when he paints cars. The 'background' paint looks like granite... pretty cool!! The underside of the pickguard is painted (granite) to cover elec. route.
I found a Squier VM neck (with a Fender logo) and a Squier bridge... Squier electronics... MIM p/u and a 'donated' clear pickguard from 'pudge' (TB'er)
... currently strung with D'Addario half-rounds (.045-.100)
Disclaimer: I often seem to wind up with a hum when I install electronics... and have it on this one I don't want to put any more money into it... if you know what you are doing- is any easy fix! I can include some shielding tape if you like...
