So I am parting with some parts from my very first bass, a Fender Deluxe Active Jazz bass, made in Mexico. I bought this new at Guitar Center for $450 in October of 2008. The serial number (shown in one of the pictures) is MZ7296995. Since buying it, I have replaced the pups with Nordstrand NJ4s, put in CTS and Switchcraft pots/jacks, put on a Leo Quan Bad Ass II bridge, and put on a custom Warmoth neck. As a result, I have a lot of the original Fender parts laying around with no use for them. All prices are shipped to the continental US. If you are interested in a trade, I am in the market for a 4 string fretless neck with 1 ½” nut and 2 ½” heel widths, and one can never have too many pedals =D , so shoot me offers if you want. All prices are negotiable, and prices can be reduced if you buy more than one item, since I can combine shipping.

I have pictures of all of the parts here: http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j77/cyrusstark/Fender Bass Parts/
1) MIM Jazz neck - $95 SOLD
Maple neck with rosewood fretboard, 9 ½” radius, C shaped profile, with satin poly finish. 20 medium jumbo frets. Tuners and string tree included and installed. Has some string wear from using roundwounds between some of the frets and just beyond the nut, but overall it's not in bad condition. There are a couple dings on the headstock that I tried to get pictures of, but they are hard to see in the pictures. The G string tuner is a little loose compared to the other ones, but you can probably tighten it up if you know what to do. The frets have not been leveled, and I had some buzz at the seventh and eleventh frets sometimes (I used this bass as a platform for learning to try and set up my instruments). The truss rod works fine, and is currently backed off to just barely tightened (as per instructions in the Fender booklet). Will ship in a Warmoth neck box wrapped in foam and bubble wrap.
2) MIM Noiseless Dual-Coil Ceramic Jazz pickup set - $50 SOLD
I actually liked how these sounded quite a bit, but I heard the Nordstrand pups and just had to have them. =D I unsoldered these from the preamp, so they have the same length of wire as they originally did. They have the staggered pole pieces to account for the curvature of the fingerboard, and come with the original pickup covers and mounting screws. The covers have the ‘Noiseless’ script on them. The pickups do not have the foam attached to the bottom to lift them up in the cavity; you will need to attach foam or springs yourself. Just a note: Fender advertises the bass as “Active,” but these pickups are passive. The bass just had an active preamp.
3) MIM Fender 3 band preamp - $35 SOLD
Active preamp for boosting/cutting treble, mids, and bass. All of the pots and the jack are attached, and the Jazz style knobs will be included. The harness has a master volume, pickup selector/blender/pan pot (call it what you will), concentric stacked bass/treble pot, and mid pot. The battery clip and wire for the bridge ground are still connected. The grounds are soldered to the back of the mid pot. I think they might have overheated the mid pot at the factory grounding to the back of the pot, because this pot no longer has the fixed center position that the other pots do. However, it still works fine, you just have to guess where the center is. All of the pot shafts are solid rather than split. In the picture, I have tape over the shafts labeling what each pot is for (i.e. v for volume, s for pickup selector, bt for bass/treble, and m for mid). There are white and yellow wires leading off of the pickup selector for easy attachment to the hot wires of your pickups (the yellow is for the neck pickup and the white is for the bridge pickup). I do not know the values of the pots or caps currently installed, but they are stock from the original Fender setup, whatever that may be. $35 isn’t too bad for a full preamp setup if you’re looking for a cheap alternative to a $100-$150 Bartolini or Aguilar preamp. =D
4) MIM Fender bridge - GONE for the price of shipping
Just the regular Fender bridge, nothing too fantastic. Not much wear on it. All saddles can be adjusted for height and intonation. No mounting screws included.
Once again, all prices are shipped to CONUS, are negotiable, and I am open to trades. Please feel free to send any offers you have my way, and thanks for looking.
