For sale FS: Musicman Stingray, Pre EB

Details

For sale is my Musicman Stingray. I had this up for trade, however, I have my eyes on a bass (stupid GAS) and I couldn't change the thread title, so here it is...
Made in 1979, weighs 10.6 lbs and it's in really decent shape. There is some checking in the finish and wear areas on the lower bout, upper horn, etc... To the best of my knowledge, this bass is original with the exception of the pickup height screws, foam mutes and of course, the frets.

The neck is broken in and has a nice amber hue to it. There are two tuner mount screws that have the heads broke off. They could be extracted, but it never has been an issue for me other than cosmetically. The frets have been replaced about 2 years ago as the originals were flat like the pancake. The truss rod works fine (moves freely), however, the nut has bottomed out. A simple solution would be to add a spacer/washer to allow for additional relief adjustment. The relief isn't bad , but if you like little to no relief, then it will need some TLC. String height at 12th fret is currently 6/64" on the bass side and 5/64" on the treble.

It comes with a beat to sh#t case that functions great. The inside has a pretty blue velvet. It also comes with a Musicman leather/vinyl/pleather :D gig bag. The bag is in need of some repair, but could be made functional. It missing the zipper tab and the should strap needs fixed.

Asking REDUCED, $1895.00 shipped Trades considered, cash preferred. Spector, Ernie Ball, Roscoe, Sadowsky Metro, Mesa Walkabout, Epifani UL, etc. Want to make me an offer? Send me a Pm and we'll discuss it. Thanks! :)

Is that the same type of finish that Fender used on their basses of the same vintage?

I have a 1978 Precision in black, and the exact same things have happened to it over time. The chips are even in about the same spots! Just curious.

I would image so, but I don't know. I have a 1975 Precision (1st picture at the top) that doesn't have any checking, but certainly has it's share of love bites. :D
