Holy mackerel, that's a beauty.

You should put 'Peavey' in the title though, it's gonna get buried and non-searchable otherwise.

Good luck, this guy should go quick.

As long as it's in the body of the post somewhere it will still get picked up by searches here. Searches aren't restricted to just headings.

Still would be best to have it in the header also to catch people's eye's.

Bump for a great guy and a great bass. I've known Ken for years now and while he might not be a good photographer :D he is trustworthy.

I've actually played this one a few times noodling around at his house and once at my church when my bass was out of commission. Played great then and with the Aggie pre there are alot of tonal possibilities to cover just about style/genre. Ken always takes care of his stuff so no worries there. Good luck ole boy!!

Yea that was a quickie with the camera phone, but I think the idea gets through. Thanks groov'ster for the kind words.

Very cool!!!! How does the sound compare to the standard Cirrus electronics?

I will do my best to answer. Tone is always difficult. I have another Cirrus but with different wood combinations. Bubinga/Walnut combo has more mids but less highs I think. The Custom can be more Warm partially related to the Vintage Tone control but has a little more sizzle on the top maybe related to the ebony fretboard and brass nut? The custom has good mids but just not as much as the bubinga/walnut. Between the 2 variable switchs and Vintage Tone Control there are a lot of variables in tone. Bottom line as far as I can compare there are just more tonal variations. Also a pull out passive switch. Hope that helps some.

Tone is subjective, but your description does help. Thank you and good luck with the sale! I'm diggin' my bubinga/walnut 5 even more since I had the Milennium preamp installed!

Now that is a badass looking Cirrus. Did the Peavey shop do all the work or were the pickups aftermarket.

That price seems excellent for what you would be getting.

I didnt do any of the work but the Pre Amp and pickups are aftermarket. Also Covers are aftermarket.

Price Reduction $1000. Check out original thread but I have reduced this. This is a great bass and very similar to a Ken Smith but with more bottom (at least compared to the one I've played).

id like to build something like this. i would have bought it in a heartbeat had i got to it in time. Is there a site i could go to or is it something id have to call them for? any info would really help.
