For sale FT/FS: Hipshot BT2 D-Tuner and HB2 Tuning Machines - Chrome

Free

Details

For sale or trade, a set of 3 HB2 tuners (chrome) along with the BT2 bass Xtender. Just removed them from my 70s KSD. They are really nice machines, very precise (gear ratio is 27:1 I believe) and tension adjusts via the center screw. The BT2 works well, flip the lever and drop to D or whatever alternate tuning you've set for the E string. Everything is in good shape, includes mounting screws and ferrules. Trade options include a Hipshot "A" style bridge, Gotoh 201 or other heavy-duty Fender retrofit bridge plus cash as appropriate. Sale price dropped to:

$85 shipped first class mail for the three tuners and the Xtender.

$50 shipped first class mail for the Xtender.

$45 shipped first class mail for the three tuners.

According to the info on Hipshot's website, mounting hole spacing is 1-5/16" across the top, 1" across the bottom, and 1-7/16" top to bottom(on center).

I'd rather sell them all together but if you're interested in just the BT2 or the HB2s let me know...

Thanks.

Here are a couple pics from when they were still on my bass, sorry for not cleaning off the fingerprints but you get the idea...

The BT2 is a drop-in replacement for actual 70s Jazz basses, the Geddy reissue, and the MIJ/MIA '75 reissues, so yes.

Mounting hole spacing is 1-5/16" across the top, 1" across the bottom, and 1-7/16" top to bottom(on center).

More interest in the 3 tuners and Xtender as separate items, so I've added prices. I would still prefer to sell them all together (prices reflect that).

Here is a detailed set of dimensions for the HB2 (the middle of the 3 drawings), I am pretty sure the BT2 has the same spacing for the holes although the base plate is a little larger.

Everything's still available.

Quick thread sidetrack: I was pleasantly surprised by the KSD, got it as a backup to my Fender Jazz ('76) and expected to do some modding...but the pickups sound good, the preamp has useable boost frequencies and sounds decent as well, passive push/pull also. Neck feels a little chunkier front-to-back than a Fender Jazz but still very playable (nice looking inlays and binding). Pickup positioning & ash body give it a very snappy and slap-friendly sound overall, though you can dial in more neck pickup and less treble to get a more 'woody' tone. Quality and fit/finish are quite good, I know others have had issues but none here.

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled for sale thread...

Thanks for the measurements. Unfortunately my bass (G&L L-2000 Tribute) is the HB1 type, otherwise I'd snag them. Oh well, free bump!
