great basses. i finally got one (no i'm not selling it!). at your price range you shouldn't have any trouble getting one if you are patient... just make sure the pickups and electronics are stock. it makes sooo much difference to have stock pickups in these basses.

Last time I checked there was a gibson ripper bass at the bridgeton guitar center in st.louis. I don't remember the price, but you might give them a call if you want.
