Do both pickups in the JAX set have the same dimensions, or is one longer than the other? I need the same dimension variant (for Warwick, Spector, others). Thanks!

Sean, I just replaced the standard EMG J set that's been in my 4-string SSII for 10+ years with a JAX set and I love it! Still crisp without being too edgy and much warmer low end and better dynamics! I would highly recommend the JAX pickups for your SSII 5-string! I got the ivory colored set:

Thanks for the tip, that sounds great!

Oy I just so happen to be working on a Stream Stage II also. Went with Dimarzio Ultra Jazz. Split coil magnet usage includes strong lows of ceramic on the B-E-A and spanky highs (less sparkle) of alnico 5 for D-G. I find it's a good pickup that balances between modern and old warm tones. You can make it sound polite ... or not.

I was considering the Ultra Jazz pups also, but a fellow TBer loaned me his JAX set to try and I fell in love with the tone. I've read here on TB that the DiMarzio Ultra Jazz sound scooped? Have you noticed that? If so, is it in the low mids or high mids?

I can see some folks saying this. I just find the highs and lows have more character than level... Well I find the lows have more level but I usually find that with ceramic pickups. Definitely cuts in a mix

There are no knobs with the mmcs. It does have the connectors for hooking into an EMG pre.
