Hello. Nice to run into you again, esp since Carvin is covering up getting caught by barring me from the Carvin board. Actually the BRX-212 is still working, but it looks like it's a year or two old already!

sorry to hear that carvin pulled that on you...

the cab wasn't by any means totally smashed or anything, but it did look like it took a hit.

as for the head, i thought that if they would replace the bent/broken knobs & check the circuit boards to be sure they were OK then it would be in fine shape. i was actually expecting them to do that, but they sent me a different one instead. it did power up & seemed to work fine; i was just irritated at UPS, and didn't want damaged goods (esp. since carvin has since lowered the price by $50! )

the cab itself seemed solid, except for the obvious dents on the front from where it took the hit.

hope it works out for you - i'd still try to pursue some kind of rebate or something, since it is in fact refurbished goods...

Why don't you call Jorg at Schroeder and inquire about a 1210, 1212 or a Mini 12+. All are in your price range and they blow just about anything else away!

I have a pair of Genz Benz LS 1x12t's sitting around...and a Dr.Bass Rx 2x10 (4 ohm). PM me if interested. Good luck.

Do yourself a favor the Mini 12+ is 16 x 16 x 16. 500w and 24 pounds!!

I've got a pair of Acme 2X10's that are 4 ohm.I'll let them go for 500+ shipping

Wow. I had always seen Schroeders mentioned on TB, but I always assumed they were expensive boutique cabs, so I never bothered to check them out.

These cabs could very well be the solution! Thanks, guys, for the advice.

Now I have to figure out which new amp will satisfy my GAS.
